Suffolk Order of Merit Competitions

There are five seperate Order of Merit (OoM) Competitions run each year:

• SGU Scratch OoM (Men's) - Race to Aldeburgh ( CLICK HERE TO VIEW LIVE TABL E)
• SGU Scratch OoM (Senior's) - Race to Aldeburgh  ( CLICK HERE TO VIEW LIVE TABLE)
• SGU Scratch OoM (Junior's) - Race to Aldeburgh  ( CLICK HERE TO VIEW LIVE TABLE)
• SGU Handicap OoM (Men's) - Race to Aldeburgh ( CLICK HERE TO VIEW LIVE TABLE)

SGU SCRATCH OoM (MEN'S)

Qualifying events for the SGU Scratch Order of Merit (Mens) are:

• Suffolk Amateur Foursomes
• Suffolk Amateur Championship
• Suffolk Open Championship
• Suffolk Scratch Teams Championship (Individual Event)
• Suffolk Match play Championship

Points To be allocated as follows:
Suffolk Amateur Championship, Suffolk Open Championship & Suffolk Scratch Teams Championship (Individual Event)

• Top 5 Places, with points as follows: 200, 170, 150, 140, 130
• Places 6 to 10, with points as follows: 100, 90, 80, 70, 60
• Places 11 to 15, with points as follows:  40, 30, 20, 10, 5

The two players who progress to the final of the Suffolk Match play Championship will be awarded points as follows:

• 1st Place: 50 pts
• 2nd Place: 25 pts

Any players finishing in the top 10 of the Suffolk Amateur Foursomes will be awarded points as follows:

• Top 5 Places, with points as follows: 75, 50, 40, 30, 20
• Places 6 to 10, with points as follows: 10, 8, 6, 4, 2

The top 12 players in the OoM table will be invited to take part in the finals day to be held at Aldeburgh Golf Club on Sunday 22nd October. Points on the Finals Day will be awarded as follows:

• 1st Place: 300 pts
• 2nd to 5th, with points as follows: 170, 150, 140, 130, 120
• Places 6 to 10, with points as follows: 100, 90, 80, 70, 60, 50
• Places 11 to 12, with points as follows:  40, 30

• Suffolk Amateur Foursomes
• Suffolk Amateur Championship
• Suffolk Open Championship
• Suffolk Scratch Teams Championship (Individual Event)
• Suffolk Seniors Championship
• Suffolk Match play Championship

Points To be allocated, for all Over 55s, taking part in the following events:
Suffolk Amateur Championship, Suffolk Open Championship, Suffolk Seniors & Suffolk Scratch Teams Championship (Individual Event) 

• Top 5 Places, with points as follows: 200, 170, 150, 140, 130
• Places 6 to 10, with points as follows: 100, 90, 80, 70, 60
• Places 11 to 15, with points as follows:  40, 30, 20, 10, 5

• Suffolk Match play Championship

Points to be allocated, for all Under 18's, taking part in the following events:
Suffolk Amateur Championship, Suffolk Open Championship, Suffolk Junior Championship & Suffolk Scratch Teams Championship (Individual Event) 

• Top 5 Places, with points as follows: 200, 170, 150, 140, 130
• Places 6 to 10, with points as follows: 100, 90, 80, 70, 60
• Places 11 to 15, with points as follows:  40, 30, 20, 10, 5

• 1st Place: 50 pts
• 2nd Place: 25 pts

The top 4 players in the Junior OoM table will be invited to take part in the finals day to be held at Aldeburgh Golf Club on Sunday 23rd October. Points on the Finals Day will be awarded as follows:

• 1st Place: 300 pts
• 2nd to 4th, with points as follows: 170, 150, 140

SGU HANDICAP OoM (MEN'S)

Qualifying events for the Handicap Order of Merit are:

• Suffolk Punch Trophy (Halesworth)
• Silver Barrel (Ipswich)
• Seaton Robson Trophy (Aldeburgh)
• Eastern Counties Cup (Woodbridge)
• Fishing Smack (Rookery Park)
• Coronation Cup (Felixstowe Ferry)
• Sir John Drughorn (Gorleston)
• Mens Open (Stowmarket)

Points will be allocated based on the nett results as follows

Places 1 - 5 will be awarded: 20, 17, 15, 14, 13

Places 6 -10 will be awarded: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6

Places 11 - 15 will be awarded 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

The top ten players in the league table will be invited to take part in the Order of Merit finals day to be held at Aldeburgh Golf Club on Sunday 22nd October. Points on the finals day will be awarded as follows:

1st Place 30,

Places 2 - 5: 17, 15, 14, 12,

Places 6 - 10: 10, 8, 6, 4, 2

Players will automatically be registered for the Handicap Order of Merit on entering any of the qualifying events.
